Quick Reddit question for builders

If a brand or product has negative Reddit threads ranking on Google… what actually helps fix that? Ignoring it doesn’t seem to work and jumping in defensively can make things worse.
Curious what you’ve seen work:
  • Is it better to respond directly in the thread, or leave it alone?
  • Does building positive Reddit activity elsewhere help SEO over time?
  • Can reputation really be “repaired” on Reddit, or is it more about damage control?
  • Any real examples where a bad Reddit thread stopped ranking?
Trying to understand what actually improves search results long term — not quick fixes.
Would love to hear real experiences.
