Throw money $$$. > Someone/some company installs AI software whatever on my desktop so it's not web based.

Can't get any models to not have such insane "safety" restrictions, to the point where AI is useless.

Not sure if desktop versions remove restrictions, or what, but worth a try.

Thank you.

Just install a hermes agent for yourself somewhere and give it access to what you need it to have access to. I have mine on an old $100 mini pc but I know people dump them on cheap VPS and all sorts. Not sure I'd want it on my actual desktop - but it's very useful and seems more stable than openclaw was when I tested that.

TY SIR forum aint dead yet.
Wish I'd found this ages ago.

Hermes doesn't overcome the "safety restrictions" problem that OP listed correct? It just uses whatever LLM you plug it into, so it will still have whatever restrictions the LLM has

O, so that's how my furry meet up pics leaked...............

Not really sure what's being asked here, but:

There have been non-web based options for years now.

1. ChatGPT Desktop
2. Claude Desktop
3. Gemini App
etc

also tools like:
1. Anything LLM
2. Hermes Agent
3. RabbitHoles Ai
4. LLM Studio
5. llama.cpp
6. a shit ton of others, literally... a shit ton that connect to the OpenAi protocol and run locally and never hit the web or a web based model.

If we are talking true local desktop, llama.cpp or LLM Studio ( or if you are advanced, Hermes Agent ).

^^ these here can connect to local downloadable models like gemma4, Qwen3.5, oss-gpt, and a about 30k more models locally if not more.

Not sure the restrictions you mention. Unless you are asking about bombs or harmful behavior, I have not ran into that and I do a lot of content and coding.

There are local models that are "obliterated" you can DL, but they wont be as good as OpenAi, Anthropic, or Google models. You're best bet may be in Qwen, but again I havent ran into these issues.

This part doesnt matter, it comes down to the model itself, not the harness.

I wonder if maybe Odysseus might be worth looking into for you? @contract I haven't looked too deeply into it but from what I know it might be closer to what you're looking for?
