Thanks dude! I guess I'm just getting antsy waiting for the Chinese to stop partying. Despite air freight I won't have my product til mid march!
 
Marketing is not quite what it use to be. Gone are the days where a simple side banner ad did just the trick to get that traffic boost and the brand “spread-ability” you needed.

Now, your message has to spread-on ever so subtly and tactfully. It’s a time in marketing where you must be witty, viral, and contiguous. Along with ensuring your message is authentic and truly responsive to your audiences' needs.

I’ve taken a gander through this site and there are lots of people who seem to pretty much understand these new methods and have seen some results.

From my personal experience the marketing currency now is TRUST. You must get your name out there by showing a presence in the comment sections of the top sites in your industry. Carefully building a strong presence with their followers… equating in trust. The more presence you have the more valid, relevant and influential you are. Once you have this you can direct people to your cause and main message—your website.

In short, I’m here to... drink some Cuban coffee, play Sublime in my head phones, read your thoughts and take over the internet with CCarter.
 
A new member here who is interested in working hard and expanding his horizons. I am already a successful marketer and have been doing this shit for a long time.

However, I am not foolish enough to think that I know everything or that I can't benefit from the experience and guidance of you fine people.

So, I am here to contribute and to learn and I look forward to moving forward with you all!

It's safe to say I'm glad I found this site.

Been a long time lurker on WF, used CCarters products in the past and have been involved in various blackhat forums in the past.

It's safe to say I've been flogging the white hat Google horse for too long now.

My mind is already working on the concepts of traffic leaks, and particularly bots. I've got a couple of ideas up my sleeve which will help me dominate the small nice I'm focusing on at the moment. There's still a bit of planning to do and my 9-5 job is pretty hefty right now, but it's fuelling the bank for a big investment in my next project.

Let's see how far I can ride this train....

I am pretty old in this world, got some success here and there, but still working hard to climb up.

My main focus is outsourcing and creating cb products.I gained a bit of experience doing it and I would be happy to share my knowledge and maybe help in any way I can.

Thanks man :smile: SmokeTree was actually the name of a band I was in, back in '95 or so. The band was riding around in our "bus" (big ass van and a lot of pretending, lol), and we were contemplating a name change at the time.

We were on our way to a gig and there was a detour on the road we had to take, which led us through a pretty nice neighborhood close by. One of the streets had the word "Smoketree" in it, and the bass player was like "Let's call the band SmokeTree". It had that "hell yeah!" factor at the time (I wanted brandable) so it stuck . The rest was history and we did the show and future shows under that name for about a year.

In a way, the bands I've been in was my fist real effort as a marketer. I have personally placed flyers on hundreds of windshields (yea, I was "that guy"), networked with club owners, entertainment companies, etc. As a result, I've been able to play some pretty nice stages and have made valuable connections that I can still rely on today. It's like building an email list, only on foot. Not really ideal, but it still works to this day :smile:

Welcome to BuSo @barney2k Bots and other forms of automation are awesome, but make sure you have a solid plan set before you automate. It's one thing to do things like comment spamming. It's an entirely different story when you try to reduce something that involves "real" (or, seemingly real) interaction to a bunch of IF, CASE, etc statements.

The plan for the bots is basically a branding exercise, I understand it's very very difficult to make things look natural.

There's a couple of ideas I've got that aren't actually required to be all that natural, they will hopefully generate a steady trickle of traffic but the idea is to get the followers to remarket to and hopefully attract one or two influencers in the space for some post opportunities.

All will be explained in a future thread...

As far as making my ecommerce site Adwords compliant:

I am using Wordpress with the martable theme slightly modified by the guys at hyper6. For those unfamiliar, this theme has a header with a logo, says welcome to our shop, and underneath it has images of 3 products with a blurb about them and buy now buttons.

I am worried that this will be flagged as a bridge page since there is no content. The buy now buttons link to the amazon listing.

I have a privacy policy and a TOS and contact info.

Am I ok? If not, what can I do to keep the Adwords nazis away? I was thinking maybe order a batch of 10-20 articles about niche related topics for a blog section. The Adwords ad would still link to the main page though, which is the sales page.

PPV traffic to a survey lander backing out to diet / skin / ecig etc rebills. One hit wonder...haven't duplicated it since. I think users are banner blind
 
Hi, I have been following this forum recently and found it very informative. Some of the things are beyond my understanding, such as the coding, but I am here to learn and contribute where I can.

I am new to the scene, but learn quickly. I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

Welcome Lakhs! This forum is fairly new, so I'm guessing you can digest most of the threads pretty quickly. I suggest reading everything, coming up with a gameplan, beginning to implement your game plan, and then asking any questions when you get stuck!

Don't let this hold you back. Knowing how to code isn't a requirement. It helps, but there are plenty of people making money without knowing a stitch of code.

I realized I never made an introduction so here it is ... :smile: I'm not sure how I stumbled across this site, but I'm definitely glad I did. I've been a lurker/member on many different marketing forums for probably around 6+ years or so, but I've never quite found a forum like this one.

Within the first day of browsing here I could tell this forum has some of the most knowledgeable/business savvy people around, and the fact they're willing to share this kind of information for free makes it all that much better.

I've dabbled in a lot of different areas online, with some having better success than others. My experience has been in the following areas:

- Affiliate marketing
- Outsourcing (I do this a lot)
- Adsense (niche sites)
- Flipping (niche sites)
- Product Creation
- Blogging (although writing is hard for me)

What I'm currently working on:

- Becoming more organized, creating a schedule/daily to-do list and treating my work like an actual business so I can accomplish more.

My ultimate goal is to have my own company selling my own desktop software/SaaS products. I'm not a developer, but have been working with developers on my own projects for quite some time. Hoping to make my goal a reality very soon!

I'm happy to be a member here and can't wait to learn and share what I've come across a long my IM journey so far. Love the forum!

In order to get more organised you could start implementing S.M.A.R.T goals for your business and projects, It's something that I do all the time.
And just save you the hazzel of going to google S.M.A.R.T goals. It means S=Scalability, M=Mesureable, A=Ambitious,R=Realistic,T=Timebound
 
I'm Jesse (male), 30 from North Carolina. I work full-time providing online gambling and online casino content.

Long story short, I'm looking to transition into doing something else besides putting together a few thousand words of content each day because I've been bored with it for a while, and I'm getting relatively close to reaching the most money I can make with it without taking on other writers which is something I'm not particularly interested in doing.

I've gotten into automation a lot recently. I know enough PHP/MySQL/iMacros to get by, but I wouldn't really consider myself some kind of incredible coder. I've started using this fascination with automation to put together a project over the past couple of weeks that involves automating building followers for Twitter accounts and pushing traffic to a chick crack niche. I'm collecting emails and monetizing via AdSense for the time being.

I'm looking to put at least an hour or two into this each day to build traffic over time and figure out what the hell I'm doing.
 
Glad to have you around. Yeah, I'd personally want to transition away from content as quickly as possible. It does my head in if I do it for more than 2 weeks at a time, unless its for my own projects.
