Summertime is almost upon us, but remember righter after that is the harsh reality of Winter. The days are longer so my grind is harder and my resolve to winning is that much more resilient.

Don't forget to update your May 2016 Goals with what you accomplished, what you failed at, and how you plan on moving forward.

It also can be a great time to update your overall 2016 goals in order to pivot, get rid of dead projects, or re-energize your end game.

My goals this month are simple:
  • Finish up my "flesh out each category" for my big site. I won't finish all the T2's but will the T3's.
  • Some of those T3's will be leak-worthy. I want to be pushing one of these out per week.
  • Keep chewing through the buying-intent focused T2 posts.
So once that "flesh out" work is done, I'm going to forget about content for a while minus small T3's on drip to keep freshness going. Again, it won't happen entirely in June but I'll get fairly close.

After that, it's going to be a steady cycle of outreach, leaking, and link-building. Been saying that a while. I created a monster that eats content like mad.

As far as my secondary project:
  • It's settled from the last link building I did. I'm going to buy some links and see what happens. Not sure yet what I'll scoop up. May get a little risky. I'd rather this start making money sooner than piddle-paddle around with no-risk-no-reward.

- Grow business 50%+.
- Purchase more home building materials; get them into storage.

It's month 6 now... Half of the year is gone.

Something to keep in mind.

Can you look back and say you have a solid 6 months of straight work finished?

I can. (Without even having to bullshit myself)

Goals this month:
  • Increase number of homepage links through broken link building to create branded anchor base.
  • Submit press release to PR wires to boost url links
  • 3 guest blog posts each with a link back to money page

Goals for the month of June, in 2016.
  • Create another content silo on my magazine site.
  • Finish the product for freelancers to find better clients & get paid more.
  • Record remaining 23 videos in my training program.
  • Buy a set of backlinks to my niche site.
  • Land one high paying, long-term copywriting client.
  • Find a low-rent outreach specialist to help me grow.
Not quite as hefty as my goals last month, but after a lot of reflection, I don't need to push myself to extremes with unrealistic goals. I perform better when I've got bite sized goals that I can crank away at for a day, or two, and get them out of the way. Every small step adds up to the bigger wins, at this point.

I've realized that driving traffic to my projects is my weak point, and have made the decision that I need to outsource the process to someone who is better at it than I am. I'm great at pinpointing problems I can solve, but piss poor when it comes to getting in front of the people that need those solutions. I hope to change that up this month.

1. SAAS #1 - Get last remaining features completely ported over from old interface.

2. SAAS #1 - Get new videos up.

3. SAAS #2 - Get membership area framework completed.

4. Side-Project #1 - Get this launched.

5. Side-Project #2 - Get this launched.

6. Complete New Crash Course guide.

I hate side-projects, they waste so much time and energy and consume a ton of mental space it's ridiculous.

Basically it's grind season and I don't have a lot of time to waste - so I'll be going straight for the targets I need and nothing else. It should've been like this from the beginning.

SAAS Startup -
1. Work on getting a legit PR Freelancer to get some news on tech sites
2. Finish brand refresh
3. Get new hire trained

Side Consulting -
Get site frame finished and copy finished. I'm pretty behind and I've been sitting on my hands for this one.

Potential Niche Exploration -
I've played games in this niche for a while, and haven't thought of a good way to enter as it's quite saturated in terms of competition. Came across someone recently who has been fairly popular but is "indie" - there's definitely some affiliate and marketing potential here. Going to put together a marketing plan and contact and see how it goes!

My goal this month is simple:

Publish 6 articles a day.

Currently publishing 2-3 articles a day and things are coming along very nicely. I figure out how to do six a day, and the keys to Valhalla are mine.

How'd it go this month? Did you guys manage to achieve what you wanted?

For me...
  • Finish up my "flesh out each category" for my big site. I won't finish all the T2's but will the T3's.
  • Some of those T3's will be leak-worthy. I want to be pushing one of these out per week.

That's what I had listed.

I keep being waaay too optimistic about wrapping up all of this content. It simply takes longer than I expect every time. Which is fine. It's the bedrock of the site. I'm am eager to move past it though. Getting ever closer.

I did have a solid leak I'll report about in my case study thread. I knocked out another one or two of the T2 buying intent posts. I can't remember when the last time I mentioned it was, but there was definitely progress. The ones that are out are all starting to rank and I'm seeing a rise in revenue.

For the other project, I did buy some links and of the ~20, all but one are done. I'll tier through them a tiny bit and I'm going to go direct to the inner pages again to sculpt the anchors. It won't be enough links to get me in trouble.

Did it one day and took way too long hah. But I did hire an Editor. Currently getting all the processes in place, streamlining things, hiring more writers. So soon enough will be publishing 6+ articles a day.

These goals.

Ok, so I got 2 silos added to my magazine site. The domain it's sitting on has a killer angle, but I'm still trying to figure out how to capitalize on it. It really comes down to time, and money, which are two things that are in short supply for me right now.

I finished the first rendition of my product, and threw it out to pasture in the Smart Passive Income Facebook group. I had 40 takers on the free version, trading their time for some insights into how I can improve it. I consider the information I've gotten back a huge success. I hit the target market right on the head, and solved one of their biggest pain points. So stoked about that. They've told me how I can get them to give me their monies. That's a win in my book.

I didn't get the 23 videos recorded for my training program, still. I have a different angle I'm going to take with it, so it's sitting stagnant again.

I didn't buy any links to my niche site. I looked over the competition, and the guys in the niche are killing it in a different way than I was approaching it with, so I'm going to pivot when I have more money, and attack it from a different angle.

I landed one decent paying copywriting gig. Then I figured out that the guy was a schmuck and isn't actually sending traffic to my copy, so I have no way to tell if it's working. I'll fix this in the near future.

I also didn't hire an outreach specialist. I figured out that when I'm behind the project 100%, other people get behind it with me. The project I tried using my own outreach skills on sucked, when I look back at it, so I don't think even a hired gun could have fixed that problem. I've also gotten experience with a few clients writing guest posts that are getting accepted on a fairly regular basis, so I've built up more confidence in the process.

I consider it a successful month, for the most part. I'm still here. I'm building up my savings account. I've gotten solid data back on the first product, and have a killer plan to get it launched in July.

So that's what I'm focusing on now -- landing a higher paying copywriting client that can show me some results on my work, and getting my first product out into the market, making some sales.

June was a bit of a bust for me - I managed to get the press releases out and secured 1 guest post on a leading site.

Broken link building was a sufferfest - sent over 500 emails and secured 6 backlinks for my troubles.

1. SAAS #1 - Well... Clearly my focus is screwed up. I managed to do everything except the 6 goals I had. I realized that and within the last 48 hours I manage to single-handedly port over 4 functions, and bring on a new feature people have been asking for probably for the last 2 years now.

2. SAAS #1 - Scripts are being worked on based off of the success of the quick start guides. My goal is to get at least 1 new video launched by the end of July.

3. SAAS 2 - There were a lot of small wins with this one. New members area's structure is setup and with NGINX there isn't even a need for redirects or anything, so it'll be several nano-seconds faster than SAAS #1.

4. Side-Project #1 - I'm teetering at the 90 to 100% area at the moment. I did a ton of crazy edits that took the wind out of me for a while, but it's time to finish this off.

5. Side-Project #2 - Nothing new done.

6. Crash Course Guide - Going to scrap this goal for now. Realistically I have to ride the current momentum and not stray off on a side quest.
