I'm looking for a simple and free software to edit GIFs. For regular images I use GIMP, but it seems too complicated to edit GIFs with it.

Looking for some basic functions, like cropping the size and length, adding captions and text, watermarking.

Basically taking a raw GIF, and transforming it into what has been posted a lot on social networks.

LICEcap (free) and Photoshop are my main tools. I don't know any free good alternatives to Photoshop to be honest.

Photoshop for sure. I think the $49 a month for the adobe suite is a no brainer if you are taking this stuff serious.

I use After Effects to edit the gif and add cool stuff, export it, open it in PS as a gif sequence and mess with the sizing until the file is compressed well enough for major platforms.

This video can get you goin -

@Phenom Most likely will use PS in the future, but not for now.

I'm using EzGif for now. It's a free online tool, and does everything I need for now.
