Submitting an Order with Limited Connectivity

Hey Buso, has anyone ever had experience in dealing with submitting an order with limited connectivity that will complete once a user get a better internet connection?

I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to do this via caching or if there is a certain way to setup a website that will work like that. Still haven't found an answer so I figured I would create this thread to see if anyone else has run into this situation and what they did to make it work.

Split up the order into many smaller forms, in a 1 to (say) 10 step order process. Each step is a mini form that has to be submitted before getting to the next step. 10 mini forms (or steps) = 1 order.
