Starting The SEO Freelance Route -- Beginner's Checklist?

Hey All,

First, thanks for allowing me into the forum -- great source of info and community!

To the matter at hand, I've been building up my skills and reputation as an SEO Specialist (On/Off) for the last 2 yrs now and I'm thinking it's time to take a stab at doing this freelance.

My worry is that while SEO is fun (IMO) and something on which I can continually educate myself about, when it comes to running and maintaining the systems that keep a sustainable business going I'm more than a little green.

Are there any best practices or general advice you can offer wrt onboarding, invoicing, affiliates, etc?

Are there any best practices or general advice you can offer wrt onboarding, invoicing, affiliates, etc?

There are, and a lot of them will overlap with other types of businesses and there's a lot of existing resources you can check out to get started.

I think this question is too broad for someone to help you out much. You might get some better insights if you're more specific about the areas you're unsure about.

For example, you could look into the best practices for invoicing clients as a freelancer, look at some of the tools and payment processors out there, then if you're not sure how that might apply to an SEO business in particular, you might be able to help some more specific help with that.
