Pell editor - 5kb pure JS

Can this relatively easily replace the TinyMCE editor in WordPress?
I have recently gotten a bit "tired" with all the ninja edits they do; not just the "noreferrer noopener shenanigans", but just in general with unneeded markup corrections/changes.
 
As far as I've seen, I believe the only way to disable TinyMCE is by editing the Wordpress core files, such as /wp-includes/class-wp-editor.php from what I remember. Typically, this isn't a great practice, as updates to core are going to overwrite these changes, making it harder to maintain. Unfortunately, TinyMCE is so heavily tied into WP that it is one of the significant flaws that is a bane to deal with.
