Hey guys,

I'm on an OLD iphone 4 still... looking to upgrade!

Most likely I'll be lazy and get an iphone 6...
I'm weirdly tempted by that new blackberry passport.
Maybe jump ship to android with an htc 1

What do you guys use?
Do you use it to keep up with your sites / social? (and when I say social I mean for your sites! - fuck personal)

Give me your thoughts, what you use, what you think, so I can have yet more variables to keep me paralyzed by this mundane decision.

"Productive phone" sounds like an oxymoron if you're spending too much time thinking about it :smile:

Do you really plan on doing any real work on your phone? Why not get a laptop instead if you need to do work while you're not at your desk?

+1 for the brick phone LOL. It's not about which phone will make you the most productive (none will)... it's which phone will distract you to least. Unless you have a severe addiction to nokia snake!
 
A phone with two important apps for me is enough, to do list app, time management app.

I guess android is better OS rather that IOS.
 
Phones are a distraction. I'm more productive now that I removed all of the apps from mine and disconnected all of my mail accounts. Anything a phone can do, a desktop/laptop computer can do faster and more efficiently.
 
I don't think any OS in particular is more productive, it depends on what you do with it. That being said, I am using an iPhone 6 for a reason. If you want to reply or emails you will need a screen bigger than 4 inches. I came from a Note 3, but hated it. I spent too much time fighting with the software because it was buggy. iOS does what I need it to do, without problems. The finger print scanner is genuinely not a gimmick and probably one of my favorite features of the 6

Coincidentally, my iPhone 4 (not 4S even) just finally bricked itself and stopped working.

I've been contemplating a Nokia Lumia with Windows 8, just because I like the UI. I've considered just getting an iPhone 6. I've also considered just using an old flip phone, downgrading, and having a cheaper phone bill. I never use my phone for apps or internet. I barely receive or send calls or texts. I did, however, use it as an mp3 player. So if I get a flip phone I'll have to get an mp3 player for the gym and running. I'm so lackadaisical about it that I haven't notified anyone or gone and gotten a replacement. I've been phoneless for a week now. Maybe I'll just not have one at all...
 
Yeah, I realize phones are a distraction. Recently removing a bunch of dumb apps and moving the rest off the front of my phone actually helped me cut down on the phone time wasting.

When I say "productive phone" - I'm talking about those situations trapped in the meat space with 30 minutes to kill (waiting for the GF or something) and you don't have a laptop. To fill that unexpected time with 'productive' time killers instead of facebooks and angry birds.

@Sobol honestly I'll probably end up on an iphone 6 for that sweet sweet camera - and lazyness of transitioning.
 
That new blackberry looks wacky but I bet it would be handy for browsing the web and stuff. Based on screen alone it's probably the best bet but I don't know much about it. I'm sure it has plenty of productivity apps and maybe even less time-wasters and BS.
 
I still have my iPhone 4S and it's going strong... There's nothing I need that it doesn't do for me already so I personally don't need a new phone. I agree, phones are horrible distractions. I'm going to delete all unnecessary apps right now.
 
I got an HTC one (M7) and it is great.. moving from iOS to Android takes a bit of getting used to, but not too bad.

I've got an iPhone 6 plus. Wouldn't trade it for anything. But I really don't think it's a matter of "what phone is productive". It really comes down to you. I had the Note II before this and found myself equally productive on both.

Analyze where you waste most of your time; and then remove it. For me it was Facebook. I don't even like Facebook but I'd sit there messaging people, browsing the news feed. I didn't realize how much time I wasted until I removed it from my phone. By removing what was wasting time I immediately became more productive. :thumbsup:
 
@vinnypolston that makes sense. 6plus is pretty nice looking but I can't get around the size!

I suppose ultimately I'm just looking at what has the most POTENTIAL for productivity. Apps and resources that allow you to use it to get work done that you would regularly need your desktop for. The best phone for when you are stuck waiting somewhere for some bullshit, you can spend that 20 minutes doing something ultimately useful to your work in the digital mines.
 
Got a Windows Lumia phone and it pretty much does the job.In a classy way
 
@DDixon I know what you mean, it's huge! Going from the note II to this wasn't a big change for me since I was already using a phablet as they call it. But once you get used to it... it's great for what I need it for :thumbsup:
 
+1 for the m7, really great phone. Dreaming of the day I can frisbee this thing into the ocean and forget about it like eliquid though.

Galaxy S5.

Mainly because it has excellent hardware and for the OS.

Was an Apple iPhone fan since the 1st gen but switched over to Android once I got tired of all of Apples bullshit.

Had an iphone, now have android.
Will go back to iOS. Not an android fan. Kinda buggy.
