Alright, so I'm getting this itch again, and thinking we can do something better than last time, taking strongly into considerations the failures and achievements of the last bootcamp. I'm not saying that there is a proposed bootcamp - BUT, if there was to be one we'd need some better qualifications.

1. Established. Website should already be established - preferable with 1000+ daily visitors already. This way we're only working with people that are serious and making a living off of this. There is no lead time to "creating a website" - cause that can take months (years in some cases), or "creating content" - cause that can take a long time - especially if people getting in line don't have any money or more importantly WANT to put money towards it.

2. Budget. So I'm thinking a minimum of $500 budget is required for future content needs. Now if a person isn't willing to put in $500 towards a project, than that project simply isn't serious and therefore a waste of their time and more importantly our time. If you can't hustle to get $500 to put into a project that can help the foundation of your business ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

3. Passion. The individuals would need to have hustle and drive and to prove they are willing to put in hardwork. Sometimes I get questions and DMs from people that just want lazy routes of getting to the top and I wonder why they bother coming to me with their schemes. I tell people you need to put in hardwork, grind, and time to become an expert in your desired niche - and that's why you need passion. If you aren't passionate about the project, industry or whatever - don't waste my time. Like Dan Peña says, some of you have businesses where you just need to go ahead and close the doors forever on them. If you don't like what you are doing, why continue? Move on, you've only got one life, so be happy and live it.

4. 1 Goal. I'm definitely not looking to become people's friends with this round - IF this even happens. I'm here to show you how to generate traffic. So there will be no "revenue" goals - but simply traffic goals probably in a ladder like setup. Some ideas are leaking first 100 then 1000, 5k, 10k, 100k, 250k, 500k, a milly - and maybe getting something as rewards for hitting those markers.

5. Communication. No Private Group PM cause a good chunk of the conversation was not "shown" which could have helped people that came along later on and read the threads. Like there were some crazy conversations and ideas in the PMs that took off and unfortunately will be buried forever within the sands of time...

6. Structure. There will need to be more overall structure to the accomplishments and teachings. Luckily a good chunk of the teaching are already written. Holy Shit - the old bootcamp was in 2014? I thought it was last year 2015. Damn... The Crash course was last year.... Damn Dan... Maybe I should just take this winter off and just go to fucking sleep for the whole winter?

What do you guys think? And here is my question - should we even bother? We need feedback on the pitfalls of doing this idea and the rewards for going through this. But then again, we're also mulling over other ideas, cause we've got to constantly out do ourselves cause we are after all the best of the best. Match and exceed, match and exceed. But getting a group of mercenaries to generate a million visits is definitely an accomplishment that's worth taking notice of throughout the realm.

From an observer's point of view, I think I'd be more interested in seeing people qualify based on the site's earnings (Whatever the threshold may be), as opposed to qualifying based on the site's traffic.

I think seeing someone, and helping someone, go from $1000/mo to $2000/mo, or $100 to $500, or $5000 to $10,000 or whatever, is more compelling than just seeing them get 2x or 5x the traffic. That ensures that they're not just getting more traffic, but also getting quality traffic that makes them money (Otherwise we might as well just be growth hacking right :D)

Personally, I'd be more interested in seeing a focus on increasing earnings, efficiency and time spent, conversions, and of course traffic as well, but not as the priority. Having said that, I think it'll be awesome either way and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I like James idea.

I understand that perhaps this should be aimed at complete newbies with a hustle mentality. For them, focusing on traffic make sense because it's a stepping stone to revenue.

Personally, I'd much prefer to see something focused on increasing revenue. I get traffic to my site, so learning how to better monetize it would be great. Plus, a focus on earnings is just a much more compelling idea.

Would be cool to see a more balanced look at sites, looking at CRO, monetization, design, outreach, SEO and other things rather than just a focus on 'traffic leaking'.

If this is a Traffic Leaks Boot Camp then it's obvious... hyper-focus on non-paid, non-organic traffic sources.

I think regardless of the style of boot camp, there should always be hyper-focus on one goal that's not contingent upon other things having been done before. Too much and people get overwhelmed and drop out and that's a loss for the participants, the instructor, and the readers.

I like the idea of milestones of traffic. When you reach the highest rung of the ladder, you're job is done, you graduate, and you earn your Boot Camp badge.

I see it like trying to learn Math, World History, Chemistry, Programming, and Anatomy all at once. You can learn the basics of all of them and be worthless in terms of making money, or you can master one of them by focusing and get the PhD and be able to command tons of traffic. The discussion about what to do with the traffic is pointless if you aren't getting traffic.

I think these other ideas are valid, but not true to the spirit of Traffic Leaks. I've heard whispers of other types of boot camps though so I'm not worried that it's one or the other. If CC is leading a camp, then I'd like to see Traffic Leaks taken to the next level with more narrow focus and goals that keep people in the game. I'd sign up or try out or whatever it is for that one.

I observed as much of the last Boot Camp as I could. I was tearing my hair out that the observers were missing out on so much information. I just want to learn and it was killing me not to see more examples of successful traffic leaks. I know in this industry no one wants to give away niches or sites and all that jazz. But, its extremely helpful for a lot of people (like myself) to see what success looks like in action. I know you can't fully learn without doing, but getting a peek at some real action would be so, so helpful.

1) Established - this makes sense, but what if someone wants to make it to the next level but doesn't have an established site in an area where that makes sense?
2) and 3) make sense
4) I think @j a m e s is right that people will be more enticed, but revenue numbers seem to be a side-note to the purpose of traffic leaks course.

Personally I like to focus more on revenue and profit as metrics of a sites success. Of course I'm quite biased as my main site is ecommerce and untargeted traffic isn't going to make a lick of difference to me. I do however need some advice on getting my targeted traffic up to meet my revenue goals.

Just thought about this:

7. Updates - Users will be required to update their thread every day. First slip up warning, 2nd slip they DEAD.

Commenting cuz I don't know where the subscribe button is. CCarter traffic leaked me here from his skype status when I went to go discuss Google shakeups this weekend.

I'd love to participate in this, I have exactly the type of site described in the OP

It would definitely be useful (and motivating) to see leaking strategies in action.

Like I'm not sure if YOU are being serious... Like come on dude... seriously? Serious? Really dude? If you noticed I've been calling bullshit out A LOT louder lately mate... Come on man... Motivation isn't YOUR problem mate. We can go in on this now or at a later date, but... Come on... @Jared you are killing me mate. I told you what YOUR problem was and you need to fix that and stop fucking around. No external force can solve your problem for you.

Here is a wild idea. This is based off of several conversations with @Ryuzaki, @The Engineer, and some business partners. The problem I see with "revenue" based projects is that you guys have horrible monetization in place. Most are working off a bottom of the barrel approach with just display ADs as their sole income.

I'm from the AT&T school of thought and would rather have recurring income on large purchases. One business I am in has HUGE commissions on recurring income, and the industry is extremely straight forward. It's not payday loans or anything that makes you feel scummy at the end of the day, it's literally something 99% of Americans want, have, desire, and upgrade every now and then.

WHAT IF:

1. A Trust is created to control a new corporation.

2. That corporation goes into business on a recurring income model - NOT SAAS but MUCH MUCH BIGGER, which people can join the corp, and are responsible for their dedicated region/target audience and generating leads through their websites.

3. Leads come in and the corporation is responsible for sending them over to the sales team - relationship already in place for serving the leads and getting a commission based on closed deals.

4. Once deals are closed and commissions are paid the shareholders get their monthly checks based on their efforts. Anyone not producing is fired from the Trust/Corporation. They can take their non-performing website assets and do fuck all with them.

Basically it comes down to, the Trust is in an industry making billions which has opportunities for recurring income and the Trust has the relationships to send to the sales team - who are already generating "GOOD" recurring revenues on it. What the Trust would be doing is maintain operations, making sure everyone gets paid, guiding the shareholders, and administrating the operations. Each shareholder coming in would be responsible for creating a website (they keep control) and generating the leads for their specific target/region all with the guidance of the Trust.

The shareholders should vote on the board of directors and individuals that will be controlling the day to day operations after the cashflow stream has been established as working to everyone satisfaction. Eventually the corporation may want to enter other industries and niches using a similar recurring revenue business model - which there are tons of opportunities to.

So instead of a bootcamp, we would be doing serious business, in a serious industry, making "GOOD" money - on a recurring income model. I'm going to leave it at that, because we aren't going to reveal what the industry is until after an individual starts the process of becoming a part of the corporation.

And this isn't some pyramid scheme nonsense where you pay in and fuck around with some MLM bullshit. This is where you'll be putting in your sweat, blood, and hardwork towards website assets you own with the Trust's guidance, and will be sending leads to the corporation which handles the process from there and makes sure you get paid. (To be honest, if every shareholder/individual isn't making at least $10K a month after 6 months or a year we might as well give it up and go flip burgers at Burger King, it's literally just about getting the ball rolling with each website).

We'll figure out initial costs and who knows maybe @The Engineer fronts the fees for the Trust and Corporation creation while getting things going. Those are all small details we can discuss later on in committee. I'm thinking a rotating leadership cause to be honest, I have other priorities that I need to concentrate on, but getting this going shouldn't take much but hardwork on everyone's part who wants to be involved.

Basically a bootcamp to go into Maximum Over-Business!

What about that idea?

@CCarter Sounds fantastic. I'm in. Let's make that "what if" into a "what is".

I will do whatever it takes to make it into that.

Interesting timing - I got a phone call last night and got another opportunity within the same industry. So in theory The Corporation's shareholders could be able to pick 1 of 2 avenues, and then down the road The Corporation can warm up old leads from one offer and transfer it to the other offer (and vice-a-versa) since it's within the same industry and then at that point it's just recurring recurring money.

But we gotta get the basics down first. Lead management will probably be the biggest hurdle, so most lead forms will have to be uniform across the board to streamline things. One thing I will say is I'm not under-estimating the enormity of the work that needs to be done to get things going, so we probably will need few trial individuals in the beginning or something. It can't be a situation where we are getting flooded with dozens and dozens of people, cause that's chaos.
