We did launch out platform on Product hunt and I am impressed. It's pretty easy to post outbound links and get real traffic.

I feel it's a croc of shit.
We launched SerpWoo on it and I actually got to the point we had the highest votes for it for the day I set it up, during the day.
At the end of the day, we were no where to be found on the list though, even though we had the most votes.
It was like they decided at the last minute to pretty much ignore most of our votes.

App sumo, kick starter and similar ilk are a founder attention pyramid scheme.
Grifting off people promoting their listings.
Also the audience is unownable and bombarded by offers for dumb bullshit that makes them poor.
If you promote your listings, you're just gifting them your audience. Even if you don't lose them entirely they get shit pitches likely to make them poorer and dumber or churnier if the right shiney object hits.
