Hi I am trying to understand something in search console. If you saw this on a new site

[Mod Edit: Don't link to images. Embed them, please.]

On days with zero impressions is that likely because the term was not searched or is it more likely that the site dropped totally out of the rankings on that day for the term as it is new therefore there was searches but it just did not show up?

Im trying to work out if this slightly unusual term has zero search volume some days or if the site bouncing around just means we dont see impressions on those days.

Thanks

Quick answer: the latter, you dropped in the rankings during that time.

But here's the thing...
You shouldn't read anything into search volume yet.
In the early days, Google will toss you around however they need to for their testing.
Even on the days when you see impressions, you're not seeing all of the impressions for that query.

Just ignore those numbers. Be happy that things are getting indexed. And keep publishing.
