So I've been getting a few sponsored content requests but I never reply to them because I dont know whether they are spam or not.

I could be leaving money on the table so whats the best way to make sure these are legit? I dont have any social media following etc, so mostly seems like they might be interested in a link because of my domain authority.

how many uniques a day does your site have ?
It could be legit even if you don't have any social media following, but in that case for such a proposal to make any sense you'd have to have a fairly big audience at your site, otherwise it would make a lot more sense to offer an affiliate program of some sort. unless of couse it just is for the link.
Have you checked out what they want you to link to? sometimes you'll be surprissed that there are some marketers who will try to buy a link from a direct competitor, especially if that competitor has more authority than they do, it has happen a few times to me, and I doubt that I am the only one LOL.

Im getting about 1000-1500 on average. They didn't really explain what they wanted to post, just if I offer sponsored posts or not, so hopefully they respond back.

I don't think I'd link to a competitor, my seo is weak as is lol

It's probably agencies scraping and sorting domains by DA or CF or something along that line and then throwing out feeler emails to see who will respond. I'd guess that they are looking to buy links for clients. I'd respond and gouge them, make them supply the content, etc. Free content + money. Of course, if you say on the site that it's sponsored then you'll need to no-follow the link. I'd just run it like a normal post, if in fact they are just interested in the link.

In my experience with those vague "Do you accept sponsored posts?" it's always (4/4) been for casino sites, about $100 for the post, and they provide the content.
