Google Shopping Feed

Does anyone have any tips on becoming featured in the "best match" section of the Google Shopping results?

We've tried everything listed in this thread:

However, no luck.

I suspect it's a data based issue but would be interested to hear anyone elses thoughts or experiences with this.

I suspect this, like every other special feature, like Featured Snippets, Video Carousels, Image rankings, Google Discover, etc., can only be influenced so far. You can set up your data to be optimally ready to be chosen, but at the end of the day it goes back to how well you rank in general, right back to on-page and off-page SEO.

The thread you linked describes the problem as I see it. The OP is getting outranked by big retailers, and a guy later echoes my sentiment. "Do all you can and then work to outrank them in general."

I don't have experience with the Shopping Feed itself, admittedly, but with dealing with all their other similar features, I'd guess it works the same. Best of luck with it. I hope you can crack the code if there is one.
