I agree - the rep reached out so I said fuck it lets try. They're all about maximizing impressions (i.e. spend - to your point), no attention to what's actually converting, just keep those impressions up.
You could tell they run off a generic script/template. Didn't even tell me to go in daily...
Would absolutely love if you did an update to this because i've gotten into some PPC and can't help but feel like I'm just throwing money down the drain every time I try to test out some campaigns/strategies.
Had a google rep give me some help setting up and testing a YouTube pre-roll...
Got damn this thread triggered my ptsd flashbacks of building a couple of big pbns. I will never go back to building a pbn. In hindsight it was much more hassle than it was worth to do well and an inevitably temporary solution to a seemingly permanent problem - getting good links.
I can tell you this - I switched over to Generate Blocks and like it a lot better. Not 100% sure if speed was a big factor (although on GeneratePress + GenerateBlocks my site is MUCH faster than before), the biggest thing I noticed instead was the lower DOM size on my pages which was messing...
Great writeup overall but this is particularly a great point as it relates to the future of information - when AI is creating believably human content (be it text/audio/video) we are going to go through a 40 year Noah level flood of information that will either usher in the golden age of high...
@harrytwatter I'd be interested in anyone's experience there too. I don't want to personalize my site with an author box, but I just might if I think it'll help significantly overall.
So I was just reading this article about Google's new machine learning - https://www.theverge.com/2021/9/29/22698504/google-search-on-event-ai-mum-google-lens-update-changes
And it got me thinking - where is search headed? I first dabbled in SEO around 2010. It's been 10 years and a fuck ton...
Good to know. I only use exit-intent's thinking that's a good compromise btw user experience and commerciality, but I'm going to remove them for the time being.
Q3 has been pretty bad for my site. Got hit with 30% drops after the June core update, then dipped a lot more on the Sept. 24 update (and bottomed out on Oct 2, but by Oct 3 was back up to Sept 24 levels).
Re-read this whole thread and a bunch of content related to this years updates. Don't...
Asset Cleanup sounds a lot like a plugin I use called PerfMatters' Script Manager. You can disable scripts from loading on a per page basis. Stuff like WooCommerce scripts don't need to be loaded on every single page. JQuery is another big page speed suck.
I use Astra and the Ultimate Gutenberg...
Its being talked about all over (SEJ, PubGalaxy, Google themselves) but looks like @Bladhark is right that it's implementation starts in mid-june and wont be completed until end of august. I mistakenly thought it was starting roll out on June 1.
But yea, Core Web Vitals (page experience) is...
Yup this ones big. From what I've been hearing it's related to Core Web Vitals becoming an actual signal. I haven't been fucked by any updates for 2 years but lost 25% of my daily traffic compared to June 2 and before. Have seen a quite a few drops in rankings.
My CWV are decent, have done a...
Dope thanks for the detailed explanation. I've been doing something similar with price targets usually based a little lower/higher of weekly (sometimes daily) support/resistance levels
Definitely consistent pinning. That's what it's all about.
What I've done in the past that's worked ok is publish a lot of list style posts which lend themselves to lots of visuals. Then you create multiple pin images of each item in the list using diff angles/pics of the item.
Post a new...
Been into crypto since 2013-ish, been all in since mid 2017-ish. Made a lot, lost a lot - but a big believer in the idea that blockchain is the future. Blockchain today = Internet in 96. And I remember internet in 96 vs today.
It's gonna be an interesting decade.
My main picks are BTC (obv)...
I'd second TransferWise - their conversion rates are AMAZING. Unfortunately doesn't work for me to bring in deposits from certain places (can't deposit from my non-US, USD bank account, and also Shopify doesn't recognize it as a place to receive payouts)
