I think true content marketing will always be an effective tactic for a business.
But content marketing isn't just writing articles for search engine traffic...
it's about pushing out "content" (news, tv sitcoms, podcasts, short/long video, movies, documentaries, twitter threads...
Just thought I'd share this here:
Important bits:
"CEO Sundar Pichai tells WIRED that Google’s new, more powerful Gemini chatbot is an experiment in offering users a way to get things done without a search engine. It’s also a direct shot at ChatGPT."
"Pichai is also experimenting with a new...
I assume the self inflicted implosion is referring to the spate of updates over the last couple years that has literally everyone (both SEOs and normies) saying how shit Google search has become.
Isn't Gen Z all about using TikTok as a search engine now?
I think the reason financial analysts...
Not trying to be an asshole at all so please forgive me if it comes off like that, but this just isn't true.
Literally no one wants to read a 3000 word article when they can watch a 15 minute video in the background instead. (and this is coming from me, a hard-headed SEO that just wrote a 5000...
I'm the same way - I have a total lack of discipline and focus and jump from idea to idea, and then return to the original, etc.
ADHD probably.
But I think that's why a lot of successful startups and businesses are partnerships between the creators and the marketers. The creators want to...
I just saw a thread on where real time AI is right now. In-fuckin-credible
People worried about AI text flooding the internet... We have no idea what's about to come.
I was one of the ones unimpressed by chatgpt content, it was garbage. But now if you do things right - even with 3.5 turbo -...
Funny enough I just played around with elevenlabs a bit this weekend and the wheels started turning. And now HeyGen...
Turning this niche site into a media company just got a whole hell of a lot easier.
They said the Nov core update was working on a different "core system" but from what I'm seeing with traffic, the Nov core update really was just a rollback of the Oct core update.
Either that or the reviews update is helping me a lot
Edit #2: Just checked, and it looks more like it's actually...
I've been dealing with a lot of this error too.
From what I gather the video indexing issues are strictly speaking about indexing VIDEO POSTS in Google's video results - not about indexing your blog post that embeds the video, and not about the video itself being listed on YouTube.
It's meant...
I've been thinking this a lot recently. Got me questioning quite a bit of current ideas on-page optimization.
I'm de-optimizing all my alt tags across sites, for one.
I'd like to think that it'd be anything past the title, URL and H1 - keywords will naturally appear in these places imo - but...
I feel like most people will miss this link in the lengthy replies Carter's posting.
Not only is it a top-notch example of a traffic leak (Carter out here practicing while he's preaching) and the type of mentality we need to adopt as marketers, but it's a fantastic article that will get you in...
Learned this the hard way myself.
IMO, Google is the world's greatest intelligence gathering and public manipulation tool disguised as a search engine. The "rules" will never apply to them because the "rules" never applied to their funders either (if you know what I mean). They are a real life...
It maybe kinda sorta targeted some parasite SEO, but if you check a couple serps parasites are still doing pretty well.
But it definitely targeted review sites!
Here's a fun chart of the average ranking position with all queries containing the word "review:"
I'm finding my rank tracker to be extremely unreliable so I'm mostly going by GSC as that's probably most accurate. Just filter for page/keyword and boom - free (and potentially more accurate) rank tracking
Great service right here. @wikibum was very communicative and answered everything fully. We went back and forth on what the ideal strategy was, and ended up going with his recommendation. I'm very happy with the link. 45 days+ and still alive. Highly recommended
Just had a thought and am wondering if anyone's got some data or insight on it.
Lately I've been writing a lot more content, but everything turns into a massive "ultimate guide" style post. The topic is still narrow and everything in the post is topically relevant.
But it got me wondering -...
