How valuable are aged domains with only a few to none backlinks?

I have my eye on one that was first registered back in 2005, way back machine checks all out (nothing suss), has been parked for the last 7 years or so, but has no backlinks at all. I'm about 90% happy with the name itself (not perfect but could work with it) so if it is beneficial I'll bite the bullet.

SEO wise? Nothing. Age of the domain, as in when it was first registered, is not a SEO factor and whoever claims otherwise, should consider pursuing a different career.

The only value the domain might possibly have is the brandable name.

@Postmortis, there's sometimes something positive to be said if the domain had some kind of actual site on it and that was indexed the entire time. If there's any "age metric" then I'm sure it's more about time in the index than simply time being registered. A domain with nothing indexed essentially doesn't exist in terms of SEO. And no matter how long it's existed, it has to start it's SEO life as a baby.
