SERPWoo Podcast Anyone?

My opinion is probably a little different to others because I listen to a LOT of podcasts, hours per day. Pretty much every chore I'm doing, going to the gym or winding down in bed, I really like podcasts and I'm not a big movie or TV fan.

I can't stand introductions. When you're listening to a lot of podcasts they get super annoying. On that last one you did on work/life balance, it took 25 seconds roughly for you to really start talking and almost 2 minutes until the intro is done and you get into the content. I'd rather you just get to it.

The audio is fine but it's not good, I'm fairly confident you're using something like a Snowball mic? Can hear room echo etc. Can get a few really good mics for a few hundred, run it through some software to remove background noise and it'll come out sexy and smooth. Joe Rogan Experience is always a great example of how a relatively simple setup can sound nice with little effort. They use Shure SM7B mics btw.

I like the topics and I LOVE how you bring in personal experiences and kind of get off topic a little, it's never scripted and makes it easier to listen to imo. I like that you mix it up with higher level topics and then actionable tips and details. For selfish reasons, I would absolutely love to hear you talk more about AdWords, especially for beginners. There's a lot of crap out there and I know that you a TRUE expert and there are plenty of us that would love to hear more of your advice. Thanks Jason, still listening to every episode!

Hey, can you do me a favor @Prentzz ( or any one on this thread ).

I made 2 versions of the same track. One with the settings I normally do, and one with new settings.

Can you listen to both ( I dont expect you to listen to the same track fully twice ) and let me know which one sounds "better"?

I think I removed the echo on both and background noise ( but can you listen and let me know ), I'm just thinking now maybe the settings on editing could be contributing and that's what this is all about ( these 2 tracks ).

Let me know if you can. BTW, its all about Adwords in those tracks.

Let me know which one sounds better.

There is 8 or 9 seconds of silence upfront, then it kicks in

Thanks

I had a listen to both and the different is pretty small, but if I had to pick I'd say BetaOld is slightly more echoey, while Beta is a little more crisp but also quieter because I guess you're using a looser filter on background sound removal.

What microphone are you using currently?

Its a Blue Yeti USB

So was the background/echo better on the the Beta compared to the last podcast ( where you said you heard a lot of it )?

I think it sounds a lot more crisp, more range to your voice. A lot of the quality is about the setting you use to begin with and microphone technique, not post processing. Here is a pretty great video that shows you how good it can get , which is pretty decent for such a cheap mic:

Some of you might have caught this already, but now it is official.

Podcast 19 - Important Beginners Adwords Tips
This is a fantastic podcast, certainly the best AdWords podcast I've ever listened to. It gave me tons of advice and most of the questions I had got answered throughout the podcast. I have a few other questions but I'll ask those in a different thread rather than messing this one up. Give it a listen!

Podcast 20: Making Great Content When You're Not An Expert
@eliquid Thank you for posting this! I enjoyed it very much. Another great way to find content is to download Amazon Kindle app and download sample of the book you're looking for. This should save some money. I find them very useful to get started on concepts and an overall outlook on any subject.

@eliquid I'm listening to podcast #8. Could you please type out the book you're recommending at the beginning? about persuasive questioning? Thank you!

I've tried this process you lay out in the past several times. It's definitely the best for me because it causes me to touch everything but it takes a lot of discipline to stick to it. Everything will do its best to pull you away from the system, and I really suck with having open loops in my mind so I end up trying to knock out an entire mini-project instead of setting it aside to go on to the next thing.

I'm going to work this system up again for myself and try and stick to it this time. I know it'll make an impact for me. Thanks for bringing this back up.

@eliquid which one was the podcast episode with the story where you told your old boss that you could make 1 million dollar in affiliate marketing? I'd like to listen to it again but I can't find it.

@Saiten , I wish i had the answer for you.

But so much time has passed and I have talked to many others ( outside of my podcast series ) that I am not sure on which track that could be on ( serpwoo or someone else's ).

I'll see when I have time if I can find it, but I can't promise anything. My mind is foggy atm
