I'm thinking about getting into flipping domains and I'm trying to get a better sense of how to appraise expired/dropping/for sale domains. Obviously this is custom crawling software I wrote that's got about 6,000,000 records loaded and in various states of analysis. Can anyone give a broad idea of how much this would be worth? It's just one of a huge supploy so I don't care if you snatch it, just give me some feedback.

It depends on what you plan to do with it.

For instance, as a domainer who buys and sells based on the domain name and nothing more, I'm guessing that's not worth anything. Legal issues, .net, outdated model (or will be soon).

As a link seller, you could turn a tidy profit with it. I'd have been willing to pay about $300-500 for it back in my heyday, assuming everything else lines up okay.

As a PBN buyer, if it was in my vertical, I'd probably drop the same amount of cash on it, especially if I can recover most of the content or completely scrape it and rebuild it flat file.

I'm thinking links & PBN people. I'm just really not sure what this stuff is worth these days or how people are using it. I'm focusing on English(wayback analyzed for language) and checked against a list of authoritative sites for editorial links. It was brought to my attention that there's been spam on this domain so it's not a great example, but I've got tons of these coming down the pipeline right now.

I'm going to add a multiple date wayback spam check, and scraping the content from wayback would definitely be an option if I set up a simple CMS that would route paths to indexed content from a DB or something like that. I'm sure someone's come up with some good solution for that.

Looking at Ahrefs profile, i could sell this domain for no more than $30. My expertise: have sold 800+ seo domains in my shop in the last couple of years.

But looking at its history... Geez bro, did you ever look at archive.org??

Horrible domain. Even as a PBN it isn't worth the reg fee. Trademark issues, history of spam, 301 abuse, porn, etc.

I'm considering selling access to it or looking for partners to work with. I'm only crawling expired domains now, but I've had it do auctions and pending deletes on a smaller scale. Depending on what type of domains you're looking for you may or may not need lots of rows/month on an ahrefs account.

Here's an updated screen shot. I made it crawl and display multiple wayback machine pages and that gives a really good indication if something has already been dropped and used for a PBN before or something.
