Using FB to target authors

I know SEO inside out but I have never bought traffic before. A family member has asked if I could help him target authors using paid FB advertising with the intention of getting visitors to fill in a form on his site.

Does anyone have any recommended reading on this? I dont even have a FB account so I am going to be starting at the beginning but I have done some successful adwords in the past so have the concept well grasped.

I'm in the same boat as you total noob when it comes to paid traffic. I started with the FB Blueprint @Ryuzaki mentioned above.

I have also been reading all Charles Ngo to get high level overview of things. He is an admin at Stack the money apparently a good forum but its paid.
