My single favorite sales pitch ever.

I love reading complex copywriting that's trying to sell something complicated while appealing to emotion and knowledge.

I read technology magazines and they always have watch ads in them. They appeal 100% to the emotion of the buyer, trying to appear sophisticated. Calling themselves "chronometers" and telling just some technical details that are really just talking points and bragging rights. Like how they wind themselves, can go 2000 ft underwater, stay accurate for 300 years, etc. That's usually very small print, and the big print is some beautiful woman, some business man, or sports or movie star wearing the watch.

But then you read the other advertisements about some complex piece of computer hardware and they don't even bother with an emotional appeal. It's all a list of features and comparisons against competitors to prove that they truly are the best. It has nothing to do with socio-economic status proving or ego-stroking.

THEN you see the ones for nice luxury cars that are a mixture of the two...

There's a lot to learn just by looking at the ads for high priced merchandise.
