I never knew I wanted to be a beekeeper...

wow, 17,392% financed. That is some nice positive feedback hahaha

I am too scared of bees to have this in my garden. But, I like the device

problem with this is that it is a bad, and potentially harmful design.

I was as excited as you were.
Then I talked to some people who do beekeeping, showed them this.

And they all said it will probably kill the bees.

Turns out that the way we build beehives is there for a reason. Who would think we kinda figured shit out after doing them for a few centuries?

This is pretty sick. We just set up a hive at the office.

I have to agree with @emp here though. The bees need something like 50lbs of honey in the hive to sustain themselves and keep producing and breeding. Unless there is some kind of way to maintain that balance with Flow Hive, I'd be worried it would wreck the colony.

I am not so sure about the bad design. After all I think that the designers are beekeepers? Did you watch the video? As I understood it is designed to keep the bees away from the honeycomb when the honey is being harvested. The presentation really looks slick and I also had an urge to get one, but I doubt it takes all the effort away
