Hi to all!

Im looking to help a friend rank his Youtube videos, his aim as you can imagine are:

Show up in right column of other related videos
Rank his channel for keywords on YT
Rank his vids for KW

Jus want to get some feedback from those who have had success with Youtube (recently)

I read a thread on here... I'll have to find it.

But it boiled down to ranking within youtube itself you need engagement. So how long they watch the video, upvotes and downvotes both are positive, and doing SEO with your title and description and closed captioning and tags.

Ranking them in google is going to be about backlinks and on-page seo.

Here is that thread:

Good luck

throw in a mix of SAPE and SER.You will be alright.

I did a huge consulting project for a XXMM/rev client on his YouTube account.

He was mostly an email guy, and used YouTube basically as a way to host videos that he embedded into his blog posts, which he then emailed out. It worked pretty well, but he didn't really have much in the way of +subscribers, +views, +leads from YouTube itself.

Here are the results I got:

It's all going to come down to a few things:
  1. Figure out where every single video is ranking right now
  2. Make note of ranking, current title, description, etc
  3. KW research (don't use YT tool, use KW planner from Adwords)
  4. Optimize all titles
  5. Add CTA + good video description
  6. Add a ton of keywords in the video editor, including every possible variation of the one you are trying to rank for
  7. Add subscribe annotation at start + end, + some CTA in middle
  8. Embed them on pages that will get traffic
Should do the trick!

I'm coming out w/ a beast case study on this to expand it a bit more, will update w/ link when it's done.

Awesome @Kevin, thanks for sharing! I'm going to be actively marketing with Youtube here soon. Will use your suggestions

I also heard including a keyword rich script to your video helps a lot.

Can anyone confirm?
