Pretty much what the title says ^^

Does an author's profile/"persona" have any weight in google's ranking factors?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts - thanks.

On its own, no. Personas can easily be faked.

If people link to that author page though, then yes.

I think Google's experiments with authors (and authorship) as an entity only ended publicly. Whether or not a persona is fake won't really change whether or not the content they produce is high-quality and well sourced. But as far as checking out their resume, yeah. I don't imagine Google can lean on that unless it can be verified, like college degrees, etc.

This is simply an opinion, but I doubt it's being heavily used at all. I think the data is being gathered and it's an obvious factor to use once they can get a handle on it. The first place we'll see it pop up, if it hasn't already, is the YMYL niches (your money, your life).

In case I've misunderstood your question and you're just asking about having an author, yes. I think having an author box is a quality signal at this point, not only for algorithms but for people, which cascades out and helps you get links and social shares too.

yes.

You can also steal it by co branding with big traffic low entanglement keywords that match the criteria in creative ways. (doesnt even have to be authors, just has to present the right type of data profile to them)

This only works if ur not flagged. *

Edge cases relating to this are some of the most busted most over powered seo edge cases I've ever seen.

Pretty sure ccarter outed this a while ago.

Dunno why nobody noticed.

I normally try not to disagree with u cuz I end up looking stupid but I think you're dead wrong here.

I think its been used heavily for ages and always will be because there are a bunch of meta factors you can extract that are both an amazing way to organize data and really easy for a company in googles position to acquire.

Its just really difficulty to navigate output so its a very under outed algorithm bypass in the sem community.

Any chance you could provide a loose example, I'm a bit unclear exactly what you mean.

Appreciate everyone's response thus far!

high volume really appealing fictional Character Name does X

A straight forward example
"Spiderman does keyword research" would totally work.
Spiderman is so huge he utterly dwarfs keyword research.
He also has no existing interrelationships with keyword research so it will be possible to link this association to your entity ids and get credit for demand growth relating to the keyword.

You have to combine it with some common sense and competitive level content.
You also need to get your exact title searched in order to enter testing.
I do a very high ratio of lot of brand mention drops to backlinking in order to facilitate the initial box data google requires to start flagging you. They have a bunch of protections that mitigate this strategy but they're pretty easy to get past if you're willing to test things.

What you're doing is harvesting the brand or word equity that exists in peoples heads for an item and using it push power into a more valuable but less sticky and interesting line item.

It doesn't have to be a character or a brand, those are just the most common and easy ones cuz you have large media companies out doing the work of getting into people's heads.

Also, I chose spiderman cuz he got a special black list from all the people who were using him in this way. There was a big scandal primarily involving people using video content to promote softcore porn and according to the conspiratards a bunch of other shit. Look up elsagate and read between the lines with out getting stuck on the dumb conspiracy crap.

All that matters is you have something to entangle with thats stickier than average and cause lots of user feedback anomalies on platforms.

How would you go about testing this brand equity entanglement without risking either the ranking of the site you're working on, or getting it outright flagged?

If an exact search is needed and it's really unlikely that anyone's going to do an exact search like "Does Joe Biden have extended health insurance?" Or "SpiderMan does keyword research" how do you manage to enter testing?

Even if the exact match isn't achieved do you think enough of the word power could still be harvested from other article components like in-article section titles or image titles or even hashtags?

Here I will just demonstrate.
I suck at explaining item by item I'm not as good a writer as some of the bigger posters around here.

Shouldnt take more then a few months unless we have trouble with indexing due to spiderman blacklists.
Its way easier with a real human you can have out doing low effort promotion.
I prefer not to do that way cuz I think facebranding / brand yourselfing is kinda lame.

Its as simple as posting content around to platforms and circle jerking them until you start getting into meta feeds like reddit, fb, google auto complete, siri, tick tock, youtube ect ect
Hardest part is typically finding a way to engage with out getting banned or moderated in shady ways based on what ever the platforms specific biases are. Here watch it will work just fine here. Might as well boost the association for Builder Society keyword research course.

Here's a hypothetical title that would work great for a youtube video if I was kicking this off on youtube.
I'm gonna kick it off here instead so I can pass some of the traffic back to buso and keep my audience away from my rivals overly aggressive content marketing departments.
Spiderman does keyword research for low volume keyword golden ratio driven seo avalanche technique websites.

Basically what you do is go around doing word bombing campaigns for stuff you know google already relates to the topic. It works with video to, especially with youtube. You have to make your content mod friendly though.

The best way to find keyword entanglement candidates is to go on instagram and look for newer hash tags with high growth rate. (look for change over time not just post volume)

A key item thats really important is item origination. I'm going to make sure this thread gets crawled before I start driving up demand for my long tail.
