Do product boxes still work to improve conversions?

Going through the process of adding product boxes to my site to improve affiliate conversions but I'm worried about it having the opposite effect. Do product boxes appear spammy now? I'm worried that they make my site seem like a low quality Amazon affiliate farm and will degrade trust.

The only way to know is to test it. Put a product box on a handful of pages with an affiliate link you can track. See if conversions go up or down.
