Best affiliates for travel site, any tips/warnings?

I'm building a travel website and hope to monetize it through affiliates.
I've signed up for TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Klook, and Amazon (Hiking boots, back packs etc).
Any tips/warnings with regards affiliate marketing would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Travel verticle is oversaturated. Amazon could work but for Booking & Tripadvisor you'll need high volume.
There are few travel bloggers who give their income report. Look them up.

I ran two travel sites about Thailand. One about Bangkok and one about Thailand. I never made good money from either. The best earner in this regard are hotels. If you can get a family of 4 to book 2 weeks at a 5 star hotel, then you're looking at a nice payoff. The big markets such as outright price comparison are out of reach, so you have to live on personalized recommendations and hotel reviews. Which can work, but as said, very competitive. Not impossible.
