Average Click Through Rating in YouTube Descriptions?

How many people click on links in Youtube video description? Does anyone have experience with that?

What's a ballpark average Youtube description links clickthrough rate?

Let's say we're talking about product reviews / best product lists.

I know it's a simple newb question. But I'm too stupid to find an answer for this on google - I don't know what the heck I should search for! Any answers/leads appreciated

I don't know and haven't looked for the answer, but I just wanted to add my thoughts about it.

It's going to swing wildly. Here are some things that could influence the CTR:

• Is the link above the fold or below the "read more?"
• Are you telling them in the video to click the link (call to action)?
• Does the link include required supplemental information an engaged viewer would want?
• Or is it some affiliate link you slapped in there without much of the above involved?
• Have you trained your subscribers over time to look for links in your descriptions?

I'd imagine there's some data out there but I doubt it digs deep enough to segment all those questions out.
