Was thinking about how/if google judges urls by different signals with respect to serp position range.
So if my url is stuck on position 72 vs position 35 does that narrow down what should I should do next?
What about position 35 vs position 13?
For position on page 1 it's usually more links...
Sorry, I'm a little confused here. All these pages that you're recreating and merging, etc, are on the money site or the expired domain you just revived?
ex "A lot of times I'll find the most relevant page that **already exists** and aim the 301 there." -- already exists on your money site...
@NickEubanks @Ryuzaki
So you immediately 301 specific urls to the money site without recreating the original page? Or do you recreate the old pages and wait for them to get indexed/crawled before 301ing to the money site?
UPDATE: I ended up 301ing the domain at the registrar level right away and rankings went straight up and have stayed there for 5+ months. Note that the 301 domain was super relevant:
money domain: "dogtraining.com"
expired domain that I 301d : "trainingdogs.com"
So the relevancy may be why it...
I recently bought a domain that:
- was a competing business in exact same sub-niche so is super relevant
- he let it drop 1+ year ago (closed the business)
- someone picked it up and parked with text ads
- parking page had "this domain for sale" which linked to a Godaddy "buy now" page
- it's...
Slightly off-topic, but can you elaborate on this? Are they checking for dollar signs + url patterns? Has this happened back on the "PBNs are dead" days? I know some PBN sellers send a pic of the urls to avoid tracking...
I don't see this being different for each user since FB caches the preview info. They could change it every few minutes like Ryuzaki mentioned but then would have to force an FB cache rescrape via the API...
Thanks for your thoughts
Sure, but those are fairly recent posts. My doubts are for the 5-year-old posts that get updated just to add a link. But like you mentioned, the algo may not be factoring in age + content difference yet...
I guess I'll just test these as there's very little...
Wow, can't believe the browsers are this dumb. Is this tested on FF/Chrome/IE?
Actually, if you do email marketing this extra info would be a goldmine for segmenting your list.
Was curious, so you can test your browsers here:

I noticed a couple sites advertising backlinks from old blog posts. Basically the posts are all already live, they just edit the current text to either:
1) add in your anchor+link (i.e. add a new sentence/paragraph that includes your anchor+link)
or
2) make existing text link out with your...
Yup, live since day 1. But it's a forum that a subset of users still use daily, hence the Adsense pageviews. No decent backlinks and no pillar content to monetize, just daily traffic from the same bunch of people. It was a fluke from the pre-social days where I did zero SEO -- it was all...
Wow, I had mostly the same questions so thanks for asking them!
For Search Console I set up Property Owner + User
Property Owner: email address on the same domain (my sites and/or clients)
User: My "agency" email address that I log in with to see all my properties
Maybe I'm paranoid, but by...
