The problem lies in the 301 redirect... Google treats them as different entities and it doesn't always work properly.
On top of that images break , links get messed up.
New site? Always ssl.
Existing ranking site? It's a lot of work with risk.
Two responses, one macro, one micro.
Macro:
All of these niche affiliate sites reviewing kitchen spatulas that everyone builds make them really hard to promote. Even if you have this great link bait, eye brows will be raised when all of the rest of the content on the site is commercial...
Completely disagree. Don't worry about what other people are off to next. Look at what's going on in the marketplace and see how you can compete better. I'm not really sure what an authority site is, never understood the obsession with it and I've been going at this for over a decade.
Saas is...
Interesting question. It goes both ways, I think. Can you run one page landers reviewing stuff and buy AdWords ads to them anymore, No.. (Well, some people can, but I digress).. But on the flip side, making purchases online now is not like it was 10 years ago, and the internet is ubiquitous in a...
Start treating it like the pr that it's supposed to be, figure out what your target audience wants to hear about (not what you want to tell them) and away we go.
Ryan holiday's trust me I'm lying is good. Peter Shankman's can we do that is also not bad.
Been ages since I did EDU, but used to do it quite well. Shocked that CollegeBound still exists. I always found that QNST paid the worst and has the most anal compliance team. If they're still around, check out Education Dynamics. Also look into HigherEducation.com <- I can intro if you need it...
@CCarter
I think a lot depends on the saas and market you're targeting. If we take off our rebill hats for a second, one of the reasons people ask for cc on trial is to increase the free to paid sign up.
I don't use SerpWoo but just seeing that you have this nuanced (and IMO correct) view of serps in 2017 makes me want to switch. How do you deal with hitting different tests when checking results?
Agreed:)
They matter for one real reason: litigation. If you stick an arbitration clause in there you can even save a small fortune on lawyer fees. I've lawyered up a few times and it was worth it. Obviously the amount spent on the lawyer needs to be less then how much you can recover.
@chanilla
Allow me to respectfully disagree. Are you building a lead gen company or a hedge fund that invests in local roofers ,plumbers ,and cleaning companies?
The website that generates the leads is the asset here and the thing that creates value for the site owner and the people buying the...
@Concept
I've been doing lead generation for a very long time, and part of the issues you discuss is why I've always tended to work with lead aggregators and not little companies. But even then, I've been stiffed by bankruptcies so it doesn't really matter. Let's get to some solutions for your...
I've used nexmo before (and was very happy). You could roll your own with twilio but I am a big believer in focusing on core competency.
Things to think about: are virtual numbers ok for you? VoIP?
In the old days, you used to be able to hit the Digg home page by working with influencers/people with networks of friends etc.
I'm looking for someone who can help me do that with reddit. I have a few specific subs in mind. I've hit the top of these subs before (purely by accident, the content...
The game has certainly changed, but I definitely was able to take a family of 4 in transatlantic business more then once just on points, or book 2 hotel rooms adjacent on New Year's Eve in a super popular tourist destination for a fraction of the real value... But, at the end of the day, it's...
