I guess it depends on the client. If it were me, my KPIs would be focused around rankings, traffic, and leads/sales generated. I wouldn't send them a list of backlinks created, unless they were adamant about seeing the information for some reason. Most clients wouldn't know the true value of...
I use Backlink Monitor from Inspyder to track backlinks.
It tracks backlink URLs, target URLs, anchor text used, date placed, etc... Instead of having to enter that information manually into an excel sheet, just paste it into Backlink Monitor and click a button, let the crawler do its thing...
Do you have any other topically relevant content on your site to the post that is struggling? If so, have you done any internal linking to the new post?
For keyword density, I'd check to make sure that not a single-word is over 2-3%, not just the keyword phrase you're targeting.
I'm not sure...
I would absolutely leave them dofollow. If you're nofollowing the links, you're basically telling google that no trust should be given to the external URL. Why would anyone want to give no trust to a page that links back to their own company?
In situations like this, try not to think like an...
I agree with Steve here. Look at in terms of "how probably or likely is it for a real site to do XYZ?". Just a few potential filters to ponder.
301'ing all dead URLs back to the home page (probably 80% of PBNs do this)
PBN only displaying full posts (no excerpts)
What's the likelihood of a...
That's kind've a loaded question. Web 2.0s, guest posts, editorial posts on magazine sites, social profiles, etc... to name a few. Whatever you're doing, just keep it quality on Tier 1.
Personally, I just like using Web 2.0s on Tier 2 because of they're free/cheap to make, you can add a...
Cheaper PBNs on Tier 2 used to work decent about a year ago, but seemed to have lost their effectiveness IMO. The exception to that is if the tier 2 PBN network is niche relevant, then you're probably good.
For Tier 2, I'd build out niche relevant web 2.0s, and then juice those up with high TF...
I think that's one of the biggest hurdles that most people face when starting out, so you're not alone there.
I always tend to go to the most obvious niches, ones that you know have a lot of money flowing through it. Health, Relationships, Finance, etc.... Then find your sub-niche inside...
Upfront, we didn't worry too much about an impending algorithm update. We weren't making any money at the time, so it wasn't a huge loss if something bad happened. We did however get a little more nervous when it came time to sell the site. We had a dilemma: To accept a low-ball offer and...
We stopped using PBNs for the most part once we got to the bottom of page 1 and top of page 2 for a lot of our main keywords. From previous experience, we knew that we needed more Trusted links to take it the rest of the way, which is when we started buying some of the higher-end editorial...
Just my two cents - If it were me, I'd use a flat URL structure (I.E. domain.com/post-name/) There's probably going to be a point in time where you're going to want to restructure your navigation, categories, etc... And if you do, having a flat structure is going to give you much more...
Yea, you'll have diminishing returns for sure if you link to your power page from 400 other pages on your site.
If it were me, I'd probably stick with a couple dozen internal links (varying up the anchor text), and then focus on getting links from other sites to the power page and letting it...
Honestly, niche relevance trumps metrics in most cases I'd rather have a DA10 on a tightly targeted niche site, than a DA25 on a non-relevant site.
However, not all sites are created equal, which is why metrics are used to price links for most guest post sellers. Using any metric (DA or TF)...
If I had $1-3k a month budget with many keywords in positions 5-20, I would rather hire an agency that already has an outreach system in place rather than try and hire and manage your own system. You can find outreach links for 80-120 on average, which would equate to 10-30 solid links a month...
Yep, you got the right idea Mr. Stackcash. IFTTT networks and DAS are two separate things, but can be combined together for a synergistic effect. With IFTTT, you can create a syndication network of high DA properties surrounding your money site, where each new post you make gets syndicated to...
To answer your question OP....no. Trying to rank with on-page alone is like trying to get a girl pregnant without having sex.
On-Page SEO is going to tell google what you should be ranking for, but as TheHobbster said, you have to give them the validation in terms of links and social...
I was using Ahrefs to analyze link profile. And now that you mentioned that, I went ahead and took a second look. I didn't see this previously, but Ahrefs was counting all the links to the old domain as referring domains to the new domain (didn't realize that Ahrefs still counted every link...
