To add, I think people (I know I used to) think it's going to happen as soon as they hit "publish" and they think the whole buying content thing failed when they still have a $0 after 90 days. When, realistically, either it always will be a zero, or it's going to be a while via SEO/ranking. It's...
Hate to cop out, but I think it's niche dependent.
In boring niches, it's, by a mile, promotion.
But in fast, news-related niches, it's speed and quality of content.
In entertainment, expectations for fun/exciting/engaging content is so much higher.
Bit of a loaded question, tbh.
Never been so scared when I dropped the office job and went online. Never had so much worry in my life the next few years.
Of course, looking back, never been so sure I made the right decision.
@CCarter is right. Go after it, or don't. You can't play in the big leagues if you're not willing to...
I have both, a dedicated sitting and a dedicated standing. I most definitely prefer to stand. No shoes, just a nice padded carpet. I'm fit, so I never really felt much of the leg soreness or tiredness. Just take regular breaks if you do. No reason to stand in the same place all day, either. Move...
That's what happens when you aim to get real, targeted, referral traffic. Traffic leaking is simply being hyper focused on pulling the right traffic to your site in large quantities. Google will handle the rest.
One could argue 'traffic leaking' is the only true marketing. I'm sure @CCarter...
The larger, more authoritative your site is, the easier it is to pull off.
A small, new site would be best served starting more specific and branching out as it grows.
Just build the site structure with the end in mind.
I agree with @Ryuzaki. You've got most if it spot on. To answer this question, link naturally. Don't worry about it. If you have your breadcrumbs set and basic links throughout the silo already, it's a non-issue. I would suggest, however, less links in your T1's than your T2's and T3's. If...
How do you know it's just one domain being redirected? How do you know all the links have indexed? How does the content stand against the competition? How's the social? The referrals? What's the DA of the competition? What's the relevancy of the links versus the authority?
SO many questions.
Congrats on the sale.
General question: in terms of value, is it seen as an advantage or disadvantage if a site has nothing but organic traffic sales? Advantageous because the buyer can add other traffic funnels, or disadvantageous because the site is entirely dependent on one stream of traffic?
I would lean towards less.
Give the user what they need. Nothing more, nothing less.
Give them the ways they can contact you (email, social, phone, address) and let them choose.
Why over complicate it?
I proactively combat every objection before it happens. Therefore, the bad leads are already 'baked into' the total cost. It results in a slightly lower cost per lead, but I don't ever deal with returns, and they have less money out of pocket. I net the same, they never have to call me...
Here's something which has worked for me:
Charge a nice, fat premium. One of the worst things you can do is let someone haggle you for price and drop you to average, or worse. If you're not charging a premium in the lead gen space (unless you're bulk selling), you're just another source. The...
