I'm curious about this. I want to take it more seriously and I'm earning enough that I think I can reinvest and set up a posting schedule. I need a frame of reference though in the context of an authority site.
How much do you spend each month on outsourcing content?
How many posts do you...
What I used to do was upload the video and let Youtube do the transcription the way they thought it was. This would get time stamps attached for me. Then I'd download the closed captions and edit them to be correct (time stamps were fine, just needed to correct screwed up words), and reupload.
That's too bad. I tried them and everything seemed fine to me. I wasn't on HTTPS yet. I did notice some render blocking issues though when an ad would lag, which stopped everything below it from loading.
There's no way they couldn't have made a huge ROI on this if they did some outreach to big...
I'm not about to embark on a multisite adventure or nothing, but I was thinking about these "media companies" that will have 4 or 5 sites all on different themes. But then I know the big company that lost Gawker bought a ton more and put them all on the same ugly theme.
That led me to think...
@MrSanti, I like the Shopify concept but haven't tried it. But I do look for people bragging about and sharing their stores. Every single one I've seen that has had any success stocks around 3-10 products total and is niched. I mean as general as "beard products only" all the way down to "soy...
I think people need to see time and again that failure is only failure if you fail to get up and dust yourself off.
1) Have you had any big failures in your career? I don't mean small ones, and I definitely don't mean ones that happened because you're lazy and didn't commit. I'm talking about...
Me too. Every Wordpress site on the net (and more) are pinging. It's not going to hurt you. But I wouldn't keep re-pinging hoping that Google will suddenly be convinced something they don't want to index is indexable because they crawled it again. It might be noindex or the robots.txt might say...
I see this on a lot of business sites too. They'll have the entirety of Wikipedia orphaned behind a 5 page business site.
I've always figured that they think boosting the number of pages they have indexed by Google helps their main pages rank higher.
If they're nofollow I don't disavow them...
Is the content you're trying to get indexed decent? I've had success with really cruddy but good old links that Ahrefs picks up that Google doesn't have indexed. But I've had a ton they refuse to index too, all pretty bad content from old and terrible forums or web 2.0's.

Check out this thread and the company it's about:
Good User Interface Practices for Higher Conversions with GoodUI.org
They seem to really have it together for CRO.
Going for "Easy Links" That Won't Do You Any Good
I've seen several newcomers on the forum say that they want to start building links, and come up with goals like 20 blog comments this month.
These kind of links are nice but if you start with them you'll be sorely disappointed. They do not...
This part and CCarter's expansion on it is the real gem of this info and thread.
I'm trying to think up another example other than coupon codes for groups of people.
How about taking a huge site that you want a link from, like The Verge or some tech-ish site that will be open to this sort of...
I'm real analytical like you, @becool, I want to know the atomic structure of every detail. The problem with SEO is Google's algorithm is a black box. You can never know what's inside. You can only feed it data and see what pops out the other end, and usually months later. And there's so many...
It's time for me to focus on money pages. Write a money page, write 3 to 5 supporting posts to link back in, and build links to all of them. If I pick the right keywords it and get through 2 or 3 of these "pyramids" it should move the needle on this project, which isn't earning much yet - just...

Was there something special about either domain name? Did one have a lot of links? Doing a 301 isn't going to give you a boost just because it's a 301. The redirected domain has to be transferring something better like link power, or the new domain needs to have that. There's no magic in a 301...
A nice floor fan that can rotate and has different settings is great for cycling air around, especially when you've had the windows closed for a while, and even better when it's comfy outside and you want to save some money on the power bill. I love mine in the bedroom.
I tried this and I agree that this looks nicer, just moving "Report" over with the others. It lets my eyes latch onto the content easier for some reason.
The new design is nice. The header is more convenient. The body where the posts are is sleeker, but not better or worse, just different. It...
What are you asking? It seems like you're saying that Google is adding a keyword at the end of all of your title tags and this is displaying in the SERPs. But then you're asking if we've tried it, suggesting that you did it on purpose. What are you saying here?
