Quick question to everyone,
I have a page that is ranking well and would like to add some more info to it in the form of a downloadable PDF. I am unsure how Google views this. (Can they read downloadable files? are they viewed as possible spam?)
My goal is to add more valuable information...
Wow @Ryuzaki you never fail to impress. Unfortunately editing the .htaccess is not an option as the site is built on Shopify.
What I have been able to do moving forward is use Refersion's domain as a buffer like this,

I originally had thought GREAT...
Recently I came across a serious problem with spammers and have been unable to figure out what to do.
They created 1000s of affiliate accounts with the affiliate program that I use for my website (refersion)
Example link the spammers are using

I don't think that it is possible, but I am going to throw it out there anyways. One of my authority sites sells children's clothing, often I see pedophilia type search terms showing up in analytics. Is there any possible remedy to this? It's horrible on so many levels.
@Calamari Well time invested wise, I don't normally focus too much attention on Amazon but was planning to scale up.
And I was thinking about creative ways to get more eyeballs on my products. But was curious if sending less than likely to convert traffic would hurt my search rankings within...
I have been selling on Amazon and was recently reading an Amazon course. In it the author claimed that it was best not to market the products in too many different places (spam the web with your link) as the algorithm ranked your product based on how many people landed/converted.
While this...

"You don’t want to add too many redirects, though, since they can put a load on your servers. And that can slow down your site, which can negatively affect rankings. "
Is there any merit to...
I reached out and connected John Mueller from Google. This is what he had to say

Talk about being ambiguous, I have decided to leave them dofollow.
Something to add @Samwise89 is that a lot of large publications now make "contributor" articles nofollow but still allow their columnists and reporters dofollow links.
Hey thanks for your input @Quick but this is very different.
My question is:
If I have a link from say Forbes.com ---> my company that is already in place
Now on my company media page as a social proof I want to show users this article about my company. So I need to link back to the article...
Question,
What is the current best practice when creating a company media page. Should the links to articles about the company/brand be nofollow?
I am finding conflicting information..
@Darth
Has anyone ever tried hitting the report this post for rich snippets from say 10 or 20 accounts to see what happens? Sayings its not helpful, relevant etc. It says it does not affect the rankings. We believe that right?

I can switch it over to business...
@shaunm great stuff! additionally, if you are unsure about posting in a subreddit but think you can get away with it. Hit up the moderators and ask permission. I have been able to get away with some great traffic driving posts like this.
