Google Search Console on Previous Hacked Site

No, its kind of across the board. Rank Math's 404 monitor shows most of the request as files ending in /RANDOMNAME.xml or /RANDOMNAME.htm cPanel Visitors log shows a lot of traffic to /RANDOMANME.xml or /themes/RANDOMETHEM/db.php?u GSC shows a couple of things: Alternate page with proper...

Google Search Console on Previous Hacked Site

I took over a site that was hacked about 18 months ago. I cleaned up about 9 months ago. A new site was built on a new server using none of the previous assets. I’m 99.9999% certain the site is secure. Looking in Google Search Console, there are over 10,000 pages that don’t exist. The site is...

Newbie Question(s) so dumb, you're afraid to even ask!

Long story but I have a site in the pet niche averaging $6.48 RPM on 12K visitors with AdSense. I haven’t touched the site in about 2 years. I’m thinking about diving headfirst into this site. If I switch the display ads to Ezoic roughly, ballpark, in your experience how does Ezoic compare to...

How Does GZip Work in Relation to Site Speed Tools?

@Ryuzaki I can always count on you for a great detailed answer. Thank you. I 100% agree with everything you said. Our conversation didn't even make it to what Page Speed Insights results. We politely agreed to disagree. The site in question is Elementor on top of a bloated theme, with 32...

How Does GZip Work in Relation to Site Speed Tools?

Question about Gzip. I am having a conversation/debat with someone. They think the Pingdom size is the entire size of the site and that is most important. I’m more of the mindset of using Coverage in Chrome Devs which shows unused CSS and JS and the total uncompressed size. The site has a...

Has anyone went down the ADA/WCAG compliance rabbit hole?

Has anyone went down the ADA/WCAG compliance rabbit hole? Some how, I detoured down this road. There is a bunch of noise about people suing web masters for not meeting ADA compliance. It almost sounds as bad as patent trolls. There are some plugins and scripts (USERWay.org) you can add to...

Do you prefer Thrive architect or Elementor and why?

We just started migrating to Oxygen. So far we love it. There are some quirks to it, but worth the frustrations. The code is much slimmer then any page builder I have seen. Additionally, the integration with Gutenberg is create. You can create custom blocks or just use the normal blocks.

    Introductions Thread

I’m not really sure what you are asking, but I’m also 8 deep into a 12 pack so I could be missing the point. I have been working on attorney sites for almost 5 years, so I haven’t hit the golden 10,000 hours, but I have a good idea. First off, its highly unlikely you are going to rank a site...

Skimlinks & Commission Junction Banned from Amazon Affiliate Program in April 2020

Agree to a certain extent. I can see them dropping commission rates to 1% for all non-category items related to the direct link. Personally, I don't think it will be wiped out, but its going to look a lot different 3-5 years from now. As they gain market share in specific categories those...

Choosing a path to follow in the digital marketing world

Print that on a t-shirt, fucking gold right there. This is what separates the 1% form the 99%. I don’t remember who said it but, “hard work creates luck”

Naw, just like sports there will always be great ones, just different generations. Ford, JP Morgan, rockfeller. Disney, Ray Crock, Buffet Jobs, Gates

Do you prefer Thrive architect or Elementor and why?

I'm in the same boat as you, my coding skills are limited. At my day job we use Avada and that thing has more bloat then a women pregnant with twins. On my side projects I use Elementor. Using the correct caching you can get some faster speeds. However, like @Ryuzaki mentioned any page builder...

The "No Dev Question is Stupid" Thread - Basic HTML / CSS / Etc.

We migrated to Jotforms (not my choice) and these forms are stupid large and are slowing things down. 300KB and 6 server calls for a simple contact form. As much as I want to use something else I can't, again not my choice. I would like the form to delay loading until after the dom is complete...

Newbie Question(s) so dumb, you're afraid to even ask!

I have a list of roughly 4000 sites, I would like to know if they have run any Google PPC campaigns in the last couple of years. I don't need granular information, just if they ever spent money on PPC. KW would be great, but not necessary. I'm looking to do this in bulk. I couldn't find a bulk...

Why Are People Building Automated Image Scraper Sites That Link Back to the Original Site They Took the Image From?

I ran across something sort similar to this 3-4 months ago. This was more of rank and bank of years past. I got sucked in and spent half a day going down a rabbit hole. They had about 80 scrapper sites with 50K+ pages and each page pointed back to a page on their money site. Those sites had a...

How to Use Log Files to Find 404 URLs GoogleBot are Hitting?

@CCarter Thank you....total mind fart on my part. I hadn't looked at log files in a long time, which isn't a good idea. I forgot about all the good information you can glean from them.

How to Use Log Files to Find 404 URLs GoogleBot are Hitting?

I just started analyzing some log files and notice Google Bot is getting some 404 errors. I ran a screamingfrog and everything comes back as 200. How do I find the referring page that is causing 404 if its nots showing up in screaming frog? I'm also assuming the bot could be following an...

Google Algorithm Updates - 2019 Ongoing Discussion

I have been having great success with content pruning. For some reason, the agency I'm at did a bunch of "3 part series" along time ago. Combing those together has been super helpful. Also cutting dated pages which get next no or low traffic has been giving me some SERP love.

    cPanel Alternative - DirectAdmin?

I would love to, but time is the thing I don't have a lot of. I'm trying to teach myself Regex right now and that is going very slow. But, I agree, some of the stuff these server guys pull off with command line stuff blows my mind
