Hi guys,

When I'm trying to access my account at marketing forum Wickedfire.com directly from Google SERPs (by clicking at the link "shooting the shit", just this URL!) I'm instantly logged-in into someone else account?! (golan, charlie.simm...) Is this some kind of error or wickedfire.com was hacked, or maybe it is hacking actually?

Any ropes? Thanks

It appears I was autologged into another account too a few days ago, but you won't have access to the their control panel (i think). They have a lot of errors with session handling in general.

Yeah, I couldn't access CP as well. From this little investigation that I took it looks like it's a site wide problem, but I might be wrong... Hopefully I am. But funny thing is that other users are still able to login and post just as before. I got all the screens and sessions saved up in case WF was compromised, but I hope that's not the case.

You can still get there if you click into a post and then login

They might be having a bit of trouble

That's literally why I started looking for new home a couple days ago

Hmm, maybe it's similar to SteamPowered issue - when wrongly server side cached content was displayed for each user. I'm currently logged in as some banned user.

Anyway, that place is dead.

Honestly, all I ever do there anymore...isn't even there. Google/Bing cache + Wayback Machine for those historical golden nuggets, when I feel like a trip down memory lane, and that's about it...

You can see the WF gold nuggets with wayback? I thought they required a log-in to see content.

It's been quite a few months but, yeah I thought it was Wayback I was able to find some archived stuff from a few years ago. I'm not saying that includes totally up to date stuff, but most of the good stuff was years ago anyways...

The session problems are still going on. I wonder how long until they fix this. I suspect it's based off the most recent logins

I'd love to do a pentest of their site... Things like that are signs of major issues..

User session login errors is why you started looking? lol

I would think the place being a trash dump the last 24 months would be enough reason

I have saved om my PC something like 50 of those golden nuggets :D Did it just before it turned into paid forum.

I wonder where all those idiots from the Traffic & Content section are now ... ?

They are still bumping their old sales articles. Nothing say buy now like a cartoon of yourself doing the work you are trying to sell.

Well, actually is more like just 50 pages, and maybe 12-20 threads... I will provide link when on a different machine.

No, don't post that publicly. Whether or not the forum is slow, dead, broken, the owners have decided to ask a price for access to the info. As long as the forum is live, we need to respect their business moves.

a price for access to the info written by members for free, as a generous help to other members. How to respect that?

Lol that's who shitted all over my posts ))) Just kidding. But it sucks. Could you post from our accounts or read our PM's while there?

Uh...I wrote some of the content they've decided to charge for. As did a lot of other members on here including CCarter. They didn't ask anybody's permission to sell our content nor will Jon be compensating anybody, so fuck his wishes.

That being said, it might cause issues between forums so I won't be the one to post any of it (publicly).

As did I.

I also hinted above with one way to share it by mentioning how not to share it. There are other ways that are acceptable as well.

  • If you wrote the content and want to re-share it here, that's fine.
  • We don't want to see a bulk dump uploaded in a zip file is all.
  • If you want to repurpose your own content here like others have, then by all means, it's your original work.
  • The portion I wrote that was locked away was immediately reposted in other places after it was hijacked and hidden.

Here's the reality. When you build an empire on someone else's foundation, it's their empire to mishandle all they want, no different than the Examiner, HubPages, and other fiascos we've seen over time. If you bulk replicated those sites publically, that's an obvious no-no. If you pass a scrape to a friend in a private message that's another thing. If you re-use your own content, as you guys have said... "fuck it," despite what you may have unwittingly agreed to in the fine print.

We aren't in disagreement about any of this, just in how to get it done. There is a path of least resistance here.
